Chef Tracy Griffith
One of the few female sushi chefs in the world, Griffith was the first woman to graduate from the California Sushi Academy.
In 2000, as chef at Tsunami's in Beverly Hills, she sparked national media attention.
2003 - She was the chef on Cooking With DIY before she opened Rika's on Sunset with her signature sushi creations.
In 2004, her cookbook "Sushi American Style" was released that transforms everyday ingredients into exciting sushi rolls.
In 2007, The American Academy of Chefs (AAC), the honor society of the American Culinary Federation (ACF), inducted Tracy into the AAC and the ACF as an Honorary Fellow. Honorary AAC Fellows are exemplary culinarians or who are dedicated to the promotion and excellence of the culinary profession. Griffith was one of only six individuals inducted in 2007.
In February 2008, she was inducted into Les Amis d'Escoffier Society. She is a proud member of the Carmel chapter of Les Dames D'Escoffier.
Besides always working on various chef events and her restaurant venture, Tracy is now Executive Chef for Origami Foods. This new company makes exciting edible wraps made out of 100% natural, dehydrated vegetable and fruit purees that can be used for sushi wraps, fruit cones and seasoning glazes.
